I want to share some of my favorite photos from our 2011 shoots (and a couple of our little cutie too). Even though we didn't schedule too many shoots due to our crazy busy schedules, I still found quite a few to share with you. Enjoy!

Stephanie's Senior Pictures

Meet Stephanie. She is a fun girl who has a special talent for attracting the love of children. Seriously, they love her and she is so good with them, including our little guy. We have known Stephanie for several years and it has been fun to watch her become the beautiful young woman she is. We took Stephanie's pictures at Fred V. Habenicht Rotary Park in Maple Valley. The morning light was so beautiful.

Maloy Family

I haven't mentioned here on our photography blog that we moved to Arizona a few weeks ago. It was so difficult to leave Washington for so many reasons. We will miss our photography clients a lot. Our business has allowed us to meet so many great people. It will be a whole new experience being photographers in Arizona. It's so different than Washington but I do look forward to being inspired in new ways. Also, we are taking a bit of a break from scheduling shoots as I will be working full time for a while. Super sad about this but I know I won't be able to keep up with it while I'm working. We will get back to it after a while and look forward to it.

I am still catching up on sharing a few more sessions from Washington here. This one is of the Maloy Family. This shoot almost didn't happen because we couldn't find a time that worked for everyone. I'm so glad we were finally able to work something out. Here are some favorites.

Whitney's Maternity Pictures

Christine and Tyler's Wedding | Part 1

Weddings make me happy. I just can't get enough of capturing the emotion between two people who are in love. Christine and Tyler's wedding was no exception. I could have kept shooting all day. Here are some of my favorites. (See their engagement session here.)

They requested a "first look" before their wedding. I loved capturing this moment for them. I had Tyler wait for Christine and then she walked up behind him and I had him turn around. He whispered "wow" when he saw her.


They were married in the LDS Temple in Bellevue. Due to the sacred nature of the temple, photographs are not taken inside. Their wedding was beautiful though. I cried through the entire thing (being good friends with Christine).

I love how she has her eyes closed and he is looking at her. They both look so content and happy.

Christine's father recently passed away. I love that she had a picture of him on her bouquet.

I have to admit that I am kind of in love with sunflare. Not for every shot, but I think it's so pretty every so often.

Lindsey & Justin's Wedding

This beautiful girl is my sister. She and Justin were married at Trails End Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah. It is a lovely place at the base of the ski slopes and has a magnificent view.

These guys made some awesome music. I love how Lindsey and Justin found them. They went to pick up food from a restaurant and these guys were playing out front. They booked them right then for their wedding.

I've been wanting to share these pictures for quite some time now. We did this shoot last Summer, when we weren't really booking shoots but did it for them anyway. We took these pictures at Gassworks Park in Seattle. Here are a few favorites.

I'm a little behind on sharing shoots here on our blog. A while ago I did a mini shoot with our good friends' cute little girls in their backyard. The older girls have changed a bit since the last shoot I did with them and they have a new little sister now too. Here are a few of my favorites.

Christine and Tyler's Engagements

Christine's name is praised in our home, along with her sister Stephanie. These girls (along with our neighbor, Courtney) watched Oliver for us while I was at class twice a week, working on my MSW. I am now in the final stretch of my degree (my practicum). I would not have been able to do it without the help of these girls. Christine and Tyler dated after high school, before his two-year mission to California. They wrote to each other weekly and are now planning their wedding. I love the happiness and excitement that couples portray during engagement shoots.

We started out at Pike's Place Market, in Post Alley. It had been raining on and off, and this provided some nice coverage. Rainy days where the rain stops and there is nice cloud coverage are my favorite for photo shoots. They make for beautiful light.

We were then going to go to Gassworks Park but I had heard on the radio earlier in the week that the Freemont Festival was going on at Gassworks and they were expecting thousands of people, so we switched our venue to Alki Beach. Christine and Tyler changed into t-shirts they had made for them. Tyler's nickname was Flash in high school, so they thought it would be fun to incorporate that into their shoot.

I love this one with the skyline behind them.

Congratulations Christine and Tyler! We are looking forward to taking your wedding pictures in September. I hope you like these. I would love to know which are your favorites.

Blake and Kaitlyn's Wedding | Part 1

This wedding was a long time coming and I was so excited to be a part of it. Kaitlyn and Blake dated in high school and then wrote to each other during his two-year mission in Arizona. Kaitlyn asked me a couple of years ago if we would take her wedding photos when the time came. I can't believe it is actually here! We did a pre-wedding shoot a couple of days before the wedding, which I really liked. The shoot was on the Seattle Temple grounds. It was nice having un-rushed time to get the shots we wanted to get. Here are some of my favorites so far.

I like how the temple and Blake and Kaitlyn are reflecting in Blake's ring in this shot.

Hannah and Justin's Wedding | Part I

It was so much fun to shoot a wedding again! We had a great time with Hannah and Justin last Saturday. I love the natural happiness and love between newly married couples. When we woke up last Saturday morning, it was rainy. The weather cooperated beautifully though - it stopped raining just in time. We had both a nice cloud coverage at times, and then rays of sunshine here and there too. After we were done shooting, it started sprinkling again. Perfect timing. Here are some of my favorites so far.

I love the Spring blossoms.

I love the look of content on Justin's face in this shot.


They both wore teal vans. I am kind of jealous of how comfortable they must have been all day.

Kali Lu Photography Workshop

I am back...sort of. We are booking a few shoots for this Summer but not taking many. I still have a lot on my plate but I just love photography so much. To kick-start it off, I wanted to share some pictures from a workshop I attended recently.

I attended Kali Leenstra's Photography Workshop last Saturday. I loved spending the day with other photographers who are as passionate about photography as I am. Kali is wonderful and her workshop was really fantastic. If you're interested in photography, you should check it out. She has a beginners workshop as well. Kali lined up some amazing models for us to shoot. They made our jobs so easy!

I had a very difficult time narrowing down my favorites, so be prepared to continue scrolling down for a while. Let me know which ones are your favorites.

I have been MIA for a while, due to my super busy schedule of working full time, running a side business and expecting our first child. But I am trying to catch up and share some of our fun shoots with you.

These three boys are so cute and despite them not really wanting their pictures taken, I think we all had a pretty good time.

I love how Isaiah is looking to the side and sticking his tongue out in this one.

This little one is all boy. He loved playing in the dirt. I love how he has dirt everywhere, even on his eyelashes (in the bottom left picture).

And we couldn't end the shoot without a picture with mom.

Julie and I went to UWT together. She is also a photographer so we took each others [college] senior pictures on campus. It kept raining on the days we scheduled to do this and we were running out of time. On this particular day it was raining on and off but we decided to go for it anyway. For many of these shots, I held an umbrella above my camera with one hand while shooting with the other (not an easy thing to do) or set the umbrella up on the ground and laid under it. I was okay with the rain because it made for some really pretty light. Here are some of my favorites of this beautiful girl.

These little girls are my cute nieces. We took these pictures of my sister-in-law's family at the Provo Library (way back in December). I hope you enjoy the sneak peak, M!

This one might be my favorite of the day. I love that they are all reading books together because this is one of their favorite activities. And I love that the title of the book that dad is reading to his daughter is "Daddy's Girl."

I really love these two. She wanted me to take a picture of her with these sunglasses on. I hope she will enjoy them someday as much as I do.

As a Christmas gift for my sister and her husband, we took them to The Johnson Mill Bed and Breakfast, which is where we went on our honeymoon. As part of their gift, we took pictures of them on the grounds. It was freezing but they were troopers. Here are some of my favorites. (I hope you enjoy the preview, Linds and Dylan.
